Southern Rhythm Venue & Entertainment

After pregaming at Don’s Seafood, a couple friends and I headed to the edge of town to find the “Micro Maidens” performing at Southern Rhythm. While this was my first and currently last time visiting this venue, it was obvious that they have some experience putting on very entertaining shows and events. The venue itself was spacious and set up well to accommodate a variety of events. If I recall, the bar was set up such that one end catered to quick orders of bottles and cans while the other end had more supplies for mixed drinks. I wouldn’t expect to get a “cocktail,” but some of the more common mixed drinks you’d expect to drink out of a plastic cup can definitely be found here.

I’m trying to distinguish the performers from the venue but ultimately, I’d recommend both. My group of friends and I had a great time and suspect whether we saw this group at another venue or saw another group at this same venue, we’d enjoy ourselves just the same.

Don's Seafood - Denham Springs

My shorter reviews say this is “local cuisine done right,” but who am I to say so? Take it from my roommate - who grew up in Texas and Louisiana - as well as his cousin who has a similar background. We were in Denham Springs for another event and they actually both suggested we eat there beforehand, and then both agreed afterwards that it was a good experience.

We sat at the bar next to the grill - if you’re cold natured, this is a good spot to keep you warm. It’s also a cool sight to watch the cooks grill oysters and other food sorta hibachi style. All the bartenders and assisting staff were kind, helpful, and attentive. They helped me find an oyster butter sauce and several unique cocktails to go with my dinner. Definitely would revisit.
